Eating Disorders Information Gateway

The Eating Disorders Information Gateway seeks to make all quality eating disorders information searchable in one easy-to-use location, at no cost to users! This citation database includes over 500 books, ranging from memoirs to clinical manuals, and over 27,000 articles from medical journals. Everything can be searched through specialized keywords, author names, and even PubMed IDs.

Created by Millie Plotkin, MLS, FAED in 2012, the Gateway was officially launched in 2014. As both a librarian and someone with lived experience, Millie wanted to create a database that is focused specifically on the eating disorder field.

With sincere gratitude to Eating Recovery Center for gifting the Gateway to The Alliance!

How To Use the Gateway

Everything can be searched through specialized keywords, author names, and even PubMed IDs.

Searches also include “Consumer Results”, a curated selection of resources that are suitable for people seeking basic information about eating disorders. “All Results” may be more suitable for researchers and clinicians.

There are also a few lists of recommended readings on topics such as weight restoration and treating transgender patients.

We’re open to adding more of these topics you suggest!
